Auditing Chinese Web-scale Corpora via Sampled BPE Token Statistics

Chinese web pollution has surfaced in LLMs, motivating audits of upstream Chinese corpora. However, auditing such corpora faces three challenges: (1) their web-scale size makes full scan costly; (2) prior analyses are often too coarse to expose token-level pollution; (3) Chinese web pollution is implicit and rapidly changing. We propose Sampled-BPE, a lightweight token-level auditing pipeline that sample a small subset and train BPE tokenizer to surface polluted tokens. Experiments show that Sampled-BPE preserves usable estimates while substantially reducing runtime and memory: a 148.4 $\times$ speedup and a 35.8 $\times$ memory reduction induce only 4.25% relative error for pollution categories. We apply the pipeline to 11 open Chinese corpora and 6 Chinese Common Crawl snapshots from 2021 to 2026. The audit reveals widespread but uneven pollution across open corpora, as well as highly polluted and temporally shifting Chinese web content. We further release a hierarchical Chinese web token dataset with 660k+ token records, each with web context, category, and explanation fields, organized as trees to support review and tracing of pollution.

Reference-based OCT Angiogram Super-resolution with Learnable Texture Generation

Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) is a new imaging modality to visualize retinal microvasculature and has been readily adopted in clinics. High-resolution OCT angiograms are important to qualitatively and quantitatively identify potential biomarkers for different retinal diseases accurately. However, one significant problem of OCTA is the inevitable decrease in resolution when increasing the field-of-view given a fixed acquisition time. To address this issue, we propose a novel reference-based super-resolution (RefSR) framework to preserve the resolution of the OCT angiograms while increasing the scanning area. Specifically, textures from the normal RefSR pipeline are used to train a learnable texture generator (LTG), which is designed to generate textures according to the input. The key difference between the proposed method and traditional RefSR models is that the textures used during inference are generated by the LTG instead of being searched from a single reference image. Since the LTG is optimized throughout the whole training process, the available texture space is significantly enlarged and no longer limited to a single reference image, but extends to all textures contained in the training samples. Moreover, our proposed LTGNet does not require a reference image at the inference phase, thereby becoming invulnerable to the selection of the reference image. Both experimental and visual results show that LTGNet has superior performance and robustness over state-of-the-art methods, indicating good reliability and promise in real-life deployment. Such information provides a large-scale data source to examine the teaching quality of the lecturers. In this paper, we propose an in-depth analysis of these comments. First, we partition our data into different comparison groups. Next, we perform exploratory data analysis to delve into the data. Furthermore, we employ Latent Dirichlet Allocation and sentiment analysis to extract topics and understand the sentiments associated with the comments. We uncover interesting insights about the characteristics of both college students and professors. Our study proves that student reviews and comments contain crucial information and can serve as essential references for enrollment in courses and universities.
