Free-Lunch Long Video Generation via Layer-Adaptive O.O.D Correction

Generating long videos using pre-trained video diffusion models, which are typically trained on short clips, presents a significant challenge. Directly applying these models for long-video inference often leads to a notable degradation in visual quality. This paper identifies that this issue primarily stems from two out-of-distribution (O.O.D) problems: frame-level relative position O.O.D and context-length O.O.D. To address these challenges, we propose FreeLOC, a novel training-free, layer-adaptive framework that introduces two core techniques: Video-based Relative Position Re-encoding (VRPR) for frame-level relative position O.O.D, a multi-granularity strategy that hierarchically re-encodes temporal relative positions to align with the model's pre-trained distribution, and Tiered Sparse Attention (TSA) for context-length O.O.D, which preserves both local detail and long-range dependencies by structuring attention density across different temporal scales. Crucially, we introduce a layer-adaptive probing mechanism that identifies the sensitivity of each transformer layer to these O.O.D issues, allowing for the selective and efficient application of our methods. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our approach significantly outperforms existing training-free methods, achieving state-of-the-art results in both temporal consistency and visual quality. MLCBART: Multilabel Classification with Bayesian Additive Regression Trees

Multilabel Classification (MLC) deals with the simultaneous classification of multiple binary labels. The task is challenging because, not only may there be arbitrarily different and complex relationships between predictor variables and each label, but associations among labels may exist even after accounting for effects of predictor variables. In this paper, we present a Bayesian additive regression tree (BART) framework to model the problem. BART is a nonparametric and flexible model structure capable of uncovering complex relationships within the data. Our adaptation, MLCBART, assumes that labels arise from thresholding an underlying numeric scale, where a multivariate normal model allows explicit estimation of the correlation structure among labels. This enables the discovery of complicated relationships in various forms and improves MLC predictive performance. Our Bayesian framework not only enables uncertainty quantification for each predicted label, but our MCMC draws produce an estimated conditional probability distribution of label combinations for any predictor values. Simulation experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model by comparing its performance with a set of models, including the oracle model with the correct functional form. Results show that our model predicts vectors of labels more accurately than other contenders and its performance is close to the oracle model. An example highlights how the method's ability to produce measures of uncertainty on predictions provides nuanced understanding of classification results.

MMREC: LLM Based Multi-Modal Recommender System

The importance of recommender systems is growing rapidly due to the exponential increase in the volume of content generated daily. This surge in content presents unique challenges for designing effective recommender systems. Key among these challenges is the need to effectively leverage the vast amounts of natural language data and images that represent user preferences. This paper presents a novel approach to enhancing recommender systems by leveraging Large Language Models (LLMs) and deep learning techniques. The proposed framework aims to improve the accuracy and relevance of recommendations by incorporating multi-modal information processing and by the use of unified latent space representation. The study explores the potential of LLMs to better understand and utilize natural language data in recommendation contexts, addressing the limitations of previous methods. The framework efficiently extracts and integrates text and image information through LLMs, unifying diverse modalities in a latent space to simplify the learning process for the ranking model. Experimental results demonstrate the enhanced discriminative power of the model when utilizing multi-modal information. This research contributes to the evolving field of recommender systems by showcasing the potential of LLMs and multi-modal data integration to create more personalized and contextually relevant recommendations.

Semantic Understanding and Data Imputation using Large Language Model to Accelerate Recommendation System

This paper aims to address the challenge of sparse and missing data in recommendation systems, a significant hurdle in the age of big data. Traditional imputation methods struggle to capture complex relationships within the data. We propose a novel approach that fine-tune Large Language Model (LLM) and use it impute missing data for recommendation systems. LLM which is trained on vast amounts of text, is able to understand complex relationship among data and intelligently fill in missing information. This enriched data is then used by the recommendation system to generate more accurate and personalized suggestions, ultimately enhancing the user experience. We evaluate our LLM-based imputation method across various tasks within the recommendation system domain, including single classification, multi-classification, and regression compared to traditional data imputation methods. By demonstrating the superiority of LLM imputation over traditional methods, we establish its potential for improving recommendation system performance.
