Abstract:Internet users collectively perform an enormous range of skilled work through web browsers, from software development and document editing to search, forms, and enterprise workflows, making human browsing a highly scalable but under-exploited source of reusable browser skills. We argue that the bottleneck for browser agents is decision-making under incomplete information rather than low-level operation, and that the priors agents lack are already implicit in human interaction traces. We therefore study scalable behavior cloning for browser agents via skill distillation, converting user interaction trajectories into compact natural-language skills that agents can read, retrieve, reuse, and compose directly. We further organize the distilled skills into a skill graph so that growth proceeds through consolidation rather than unbounded accumulation. This suggests that the scalability of browser agents may come less from manually designed tasks and more from the collective skills already expressed by internet users. Abstract:Data, as the fundamental substrate of modern intelligence, has greatly driven the development of current foundation models. Naturally, researchers aim to extend this paradigm to the domain of GUI agents, hoping to build strong GUI agents through a similar paradigm. However, GUI agent data cannot be directly harvested from the internet, making it costly and difficult to collect at scale. As a result, current GUI agents suffer from poor cross-device generalization and limited visual grounding ability for fine-grained GUI elements. As an attempt to address data challenge in GUI agents, we propose GUICrafter, a weakly-supervised GUI agent leveraging massive unannotated screenshots to substantially reduce the reliance on expensive human annotations. GUICrafter explores a curriculum learning framework for training GUI agents through two progressive stages. First, the model learns visual grounding from large-scale unannotated screenshots and webpages, leveraging the rich contextual signals inherent in GUI interactions without human annotations. Then, in Stage 2, we leverage a small amount of high-quality data to calibrate the model via reinforcement learning. Experiments show that GUICrafter achieves competitive, or even superior, performance to advanced systems like UI-TARS while using only 0.1% of its data. Furthermore, under the same amount of annotated data, GUICrafter surpasses all previous methods such as GUI-R1. Code, data, and models are available at https://github.com/fansunqi/GUICrafter.
Abstract:Video understanding is a fundamental capability for multimodal intelligence, and recent Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLMs) have achieved remarkable performance on Video Question Answering (VideoQA) benchmarks. However, existing benchmarks primarily evaluate whether models can perceive shallow visual cues, while rarely examining whether MLLMs can learn deeper knowledge or procedural skills from video tutorials and generalize them to downstream long-horizon agentic tasks. To address this gap, we introduce VG-GUIBench (Video-Guided GUI Benchmark), a new benchmark designed to evaluate whether MLLM-based GUI agents can follow video tutorials to complete corresponding GUI interactive tasks. Furthermore, we observe that the performance of models on both VideoQA and video-guided agentic tasks critically depends on effective keyframe extraction. Based on this observation, we propose TASKER (Task-driven And Scene-aware Keyframe searchER), a keyframe extraction algorithm that jointly considers task relevance and scene dynamics to identify informative frames. Experimental results demonstrate that TASKER achieves significant performance improvements on both VideoQA and video-guided agentic task benchmarks, outperforming the best baseline by 2.0% on the EgoSchema fullset and 1.8% on the NExT-QA dataset, respectively. These results further highlight the potential of generalized keyframe extraction methods for video understanding tasks. Abstract:Current LLM agent benchmarks, which predominantly focus on binary pass/fail tasks such as code generation or search-based question answering, often neglect the value of real-world engineering that is often captured through the iterative optimization of feasible designs. To this end, we introduce Frontier-Eng, a human-verified benchmark for generative optimization -- an iterative propose-execute-evaluate loop in which an agent generates candidate artifacts, receives executable verifier feedback, and revises them under a fixed interaction budget -- spanning $47$ tasks across five broad engineering categories. Unlike previous suites, Frontier-Eng tasks are grounded in industrial-grade simulators and verifiers that provide continuous reward signals and enforce hard feasibility constraints under constrained budgets. We evaluate eight frontier language models using representative search frameworks, finding that while Claude 4.6 Opus achieves the most robust performance, the benchmark remains challenging for all models. Our analysis suggests a dual power-law decay in improvement frequency ($\sim$ 1/iteration) and magnitude ($\sim$ 1/improvement count). We further show that although width improves parallelism and diversity, depth remains crucial for hard-won improvements under a fixed budget. Frontier-Eng establishes a new standard for assessing the capacity of AI agents to integrate domain knowledge with executable feedback to solve complex, open-ended engineering problems.
