Machine Learning in the Quantum Age: Quantum vs. Classical Support Vector Machines

This work endeavors to juxtapose the efficacy of machine learning algorithms within classical and quantum computational paradigms. Particularly, by emphasizing on Support Vector Machines (SVM), we scrutinize the classification prowess of classical SVM and Quantum Support Vector Machines (QSVM) operational on quantum hardware over the Iris dataset. The methodology embraced encapsulates an extensive array of experiments orchestrated through the Qiskit library, alongside hyperparameter optimization. The findings unveil that in particular scenarios, QSVMs extend a level of accuracy that can vie with classical SVMs, albeit the execution times are presently protracted. Moreover, we underscore that augmenting quantum computational capacity and the magnitude of parallelism can markedly ameliorate the performance of quantum machine learning algorithms. Bridging History with AI A Comparative Evaluation of GPT 3.5, GPT4, and GoogleBARD in Predictive Accuracy and Fact Checking

The rapid proliferation of information in the digital era underscores the importance of accurate historical representation and interpretation. While artificial intelligence has shown promise in various fields, its potential for historical fact-checking and gap-filling remains largely untapped. This study evaluates the performance of three large language models LLMs GPT 3.5, GPT 4, and GoogleBARD in the context of predicting and verifying historical events based on given data. A novel metric, Distance to Reality (DTR), is introduced to assess the models' outputs against established historical facts. The results reveal a substantial potential for AI in historical studies, with GPT 4 demonstrating superior performance. This paper underscores the need for further research into AI's role in enriching our understanding of the past and bridging historical knowledge gaps.

Training Natural Language Processing Models on Encrypted Text for Enhanced Privacy

With the increasing use of cloud-based services for training and deploying machine learning models, data privacy has become a major concern. This is particularly important for natural language processing (NLP) models, which often process sensitive information such as personal communications and confidential documents. In this study, we propose a method for training NLP models on encrypted text data to mitigate data privacy concerns while maintaining similar performance to models trained on non-encrypted data. We demonstrate our method using two different architectures, namely Doc2Vec+XGBoost and Doc2Vec+LSTM, and evaluate the models on the 20 Newsgroups dataset. Our results indicate that both encrypted and non-encrypted models achieve comparable performance, suggesting that our encryption method is effective in preserving data privacy without sacrificing model accuracy. Semantic Web Enabled Geographic Question Answering Framework: GeoTR

With the considerable growth of linked data, researchers have focused on how to increase the availability of semantic web technologies to provide practical usages for real life systems. Question answering systems are an example of real-life systems that communicate directly with end users, understand user intention and generate answers. End users do not care about the structural query language or the vocabulary of the knowledge base where the point of a problem arises. In this study, a question answering framework that converts Turkish natural language input into SPARQL queries in the geographical domain is proposed. Additionally, a novel Turkish ontology, which covers a 10th grade geography lesson named Spatial Synthesis Turkey, has been developed to be used as a linked data provider. Moreover, a gap in the literature on Turkish question answering systems, which utilizes linked data in the geographical domain, is addressed. A hybrid system architecture that combines natural language processing techniques with linked data technologies to generate answers is also proposed. Further related research areas are suggested.
